A lost traveller has no name, no nationality and no age. The most gruelling walk is the one you make out of the room and over the doorstep, but departure opens up a life full of possibilities in which you put yourself in the hands of fate.

Tim Theo (Belgian, 22 years old) was standing at the side of the road with a sprained ankle and no plan left. A stranger - who did not remain one for long - picked him up to share the ride. What started out as a chance meeting on the road turned into a stay of over three months and an awakening love for the country of amber, forests and endless horizons. Drawn by the natural way of life, he returned to Latvia two more times - in summer (2014) and winter (2015).

On the occasion of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Tim Theo was asked to exhibit pictures he took during his Latvian travels. His pictures offer a humble insight into daily life in the countryside, conveying all its vulnerability and its connection with the environment.

Fishing on a handmade raft, skinny-dipping, chopping trees using the strength of one's muscles, ice crystals forming on the stubble of a beard, making fire in the snow, talking with ghosts, feeling, breathing, exploring... This series is a glimpse of a life closely bound to nature in a world dominated by mankind.
